A bird-shaped robot prototype has successfully completed its first flight in Los Angeles, California. Small size of the nano-tech robot was developed by scientists from the United States who supported the company AeroVironment of the Pentagon research agency. This robot is useful as a spy in espionage missions.
Shaped exactly like a bird once and can take wing, but slightly heavier and smaller than the species of birds generally.
As quoted from the site Physorg.com, Friday (18/02/2011), the robot weighs 19 grams and capable of flying at speeds of up to 18 km or about 11 miles per hour. Can be controlled remotely, and free to fly anywhere.
The appearance of this bird intentionally obscured, but not final match to determine the bird so as not to attract attention. Project manager, Matt Keennon, had thought that the sparrow would be a better choice.
AeroVironment project was funded by the U.S. military $ 4 million or around Rp 36 trillion since 2006.
