Kristin Kreuk, who portrayed Lana Lang in “Smallville,” is set to star in The CW’s “Beauty and the Beast” reboot.
“Beauty and the Beast” will be loosely inspired by the 1987 Linda Hamilton and Ron Perlman CBS series of the same name, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Kreuk will star as a New York homicide detective named Catherine who becomes close to Vincent, a military vet who was turned into a beast in a failed experiment. Vincent acts as Catherine’s slightly protective guardian angel from his underground lair and avenges her mother’s death by killing the man who murdered her nine years earlier.
Ron Koslow, who created the original 1980′s series will serve as an Executive Producer on the series. Jennifer Levin and Sherri Cooper penned the pilot script while Gary Fleder directed. Read the rest of this entry »

Cissy Houston has opened up about her daughter Whitney Houston’s untimely death on Saturday.
“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Whitney,” the gospel singer said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com. “This is an unimaginable tragedy and we will miss her terribly. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from her fans and friends.”
Cissy Houston, 78, is said to have talked to her daughter half an hour before her death about attending Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party, according to TMZ.
The entertainment outlet also reports that Houston talked to her cousin Dionne Warwick several hours earlier, to confirm that they would be sitting at the same table at that evening’s party. Read the rest of this entry »

Adele dominated the 2012 Grammy Awards on February 12 winning six awards including taking top honors like Record of the Year and Album of the Year for her single, “Rolling In The Deep,” and her sophomore album “21.”

Whitney Houston died at age 48 at a hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday, February 11, a day before the 2012 Grammy Awards, whose producers are already planning a tribute to the iconic singer.
The cause of her death has not yet been determined. Beverly Hills police Lt. Mark Rosen said the singer died in a room at the Beverly Hilton. Her said they received a 911 call from hotel security at 3:43 p.m. and that there were “no obvious signs of foul play and no obvious signs of a cause of death.”
“Fire Department personnel, accompanied by hotel security responded to the hotel room occupied by entertainer Whitney Houston,” police said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com. “Upon arrival, first responders discovered Whitney Houston unresponsive. They initiated CPR, but were unable to revive her. At approximately 3:55 p.m. Whitney Houston, age 48 was pronounced dead at the scene.” Read the rest of this entry »
